The lookup told you the yard. Now you need the visit. Getting a car out of an NYC pound is documents, the city’s published fees, and the right gate hours. It is not another “impound lot near me” pin. If you still do not know which system took the car, start with find your towed car and where they take a towed car. This page is the reclaim.
Confirm the regime before you ride to Exterior Street
An NYPD parking-violation tow goes to a borough NYPD pound. That is the path this page walks. A DCWP private-lot tow goes to the operator’s storage lot, not these three gates. A crash rotation tow goes to the rotation operator’s yard. Property Clerk pounds (Erie Basin at 700 Columbia Street, Brooklyn, and Springfield Gardens at 174-20 North Boundary Road) are for arrests and investigations, not ordinary parking. Do not mix them.
Use Find Towed Vehicle and NYC 311 until the record names a yard. Searching impound lot near me from a phone on the 6 train will not tell you whether Finance booted the car or NYPD hooked it for a hydrant.
Quick Tow NYC is a referral service. We match drivers with independent local operators. We do not run a pound. We cannot release a car. We are not a DCWP-licensed towing operator. If you still need a ride to the yard, that is a separate dispatch, quoted before anyone rolls.
The three NYPD parking pounds, hours, and published fees
The city publishes these parking-tow pounds. Use the live NYPD towed-vehicles page before you travel. Hours change.
Bronx: 2444 Exterior Street, Bronx 10468. Phone 718-585-1385 (publishable). Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Brooklyn Navy Yard: entrance at Sands Street and Navy Street. Phone 718-237-3300 (publishable). Open continuously 7 a.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
Queens / College Point: 31-22 College Point Boulevard, Flushing 11354. Phone 718-359-6200 (publishable). Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no confirmed Manhattan parking pound and no listed Staten Island parking pound. Do not drive to a guessed address on those boroughs.
NYPD tow release, as published: $185 under 8,000 pounds, $370 at or above. Storage $20 per night. Reclaim within 10 days. Source: the NYPD towed-vehicles page and NYC 311 KA-03123. Re-check before you pay. We do not add a brand fee on top of those numbers because we do not hold the car.
Bring a valid driver’s license, current registration, and current insurance card. A non-owner needs a notarized authorization letter. Payment is cash or card in the retriever’s name. That is the city’s published document list. If the window asks for something else, follow the window, not this paragraph.
If you miss the 10-day reclaim, read what happens if you don’t pick up the car. Lien Law § 184 and VTL § 1224 sit on that page. This page stops at the visit.
How to get through the gate without a wasted trip
Check the lookup the morning you go. Cars move between yards. A Bronx hook can still sit at Exterior Street. A Brooklyn street-cleaning tow often sits at the Navy Yard. A Queens ASP tow often sits at College Point. None of that is a promise about your plate.
Name the pound on the call if you need a ride there. “College Point pound, 31-22 College Point Boulevard, I have the release papers” is a destination. “The impound” is not.
Do not show up after posted hours and argue. The Bronx Saturday window closes at 3 p.m. The Navy Yard’s odd continuous hours are on the city’s page, not on a blog memory.
If Finance booted the car, that is a scofflaw path, not this reclaim. Boot at $350 or more in default-judgment tickets, tow after 48 hours unpaid, immediate tow at $2,500 or more. Marshal/Sheriff line (646) 517-1000. We wrote scofflaw boot and tow for that paper on the glass.
If a private-lot invoice names a storage yard in the same borough, that is DCWP, capped at $125 plus storage rules, not $185 NYPD. Different gate, different receipt.
We do not promise the car will start in the pound lane. A dead battery after a week on the lot is a jump or a tow to a shop, quoted separately.
When to call us
If the city already has the car, you need their yard, their fees, and their documents. If you need a ride to that gate, or a tow out after release because the battery is dead, call us at (929) 356-7857. The line is answered around the clock, calls are recorded after a notice, and an independent operator is dispatched only after the quote is stated.
