A Model 3 that will not wake on a Park Slope curb is not a Camry with a dead battery. Searching Tesla towing NYC from that driveway, a JFK long-term lot, or a Midtown garage is the right move. The owner’s manual for that exact model is the authority. We do not invent a sequence.

The manual, not a ZIP code, picks the truck

Quick Tow NYC is a referral service. We match drivers with independent local operators. We do not own trucks. We do not perform the work. We are not a Tesla-authorized service. We do not walk every caller through one Transport Mode path.

Tesla’s current owner’s manual is the authority on two-wheel methods. Confirm the required method against the manual for that exact model and software. Ask whether Transport Mode applies before the operator loads the car. Menu names and steps change. If the 12-volt battery is dead, Transport Mode may be unavailable. We do not publish a universal refuse-or-accept policy for every EV.

Many EVs need a flatbed. Dragging drive wheels can damage a motor or a transfer case on some vehicles. That is not a universal rule for every drivetrain. Give year, make, model, and drivetrain so the operator can confirm the setup. Soft-strap wheel nets, when the operator uses them, are their method, not a brand kit we stock.

A drained 12-volt pack is a different job from a drained traction pack. Every EV has a small 12-volt battery separate from the high-voltage pack. A hard New York winter, or a week in an airport lot at JFK or LaGuardia, kills that 12-volt the same way it kills a gas-car battery. Jumping the 12-volt is possible on some models if the operator has the right setup and the manual allows it. Access points vary. If the jump does not bring the car back, the next quote is a flatbed to a service center you name. We do not have a confirmed mobile-charging product that restores traction range on a curb. An empty EV is not fuel delivery.

If you have Tesla Roadside coverage and you want to use it first, call them. If you call us direct, we line up a local operator instead.

NYC streets that change an EV load

Commercial vehicles, trucks, and tow trucks are banned on NYC parkways, including the Belt, the FDR, the Henry Hudson, the Cross Island, the Jackie Robinson, and the Grand Central. A truck on those roads is itself a violation. The FDR Drive carries a published 8,000-pound limit north of 23rd Street. Say the road. A Tesla on the FDR is a legal-street staging problem before it is a Transport Mode problem.

Midtown and Financial District garages are height and aisle problems. Give the garage name, the level, the space, and the posted height. A low-clearance bed still needs room to tilt. If the car is in a basement stack, say so. The operator may tell you the car has to be rolled to the street first.

A Park Slope driveway, a Long Island City lot, a Washington Heights hill: those are five-borough jobs. Coverage is Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. Nassau, Westchester, and New Jersey are out except as a long-distance destination.

Rivian, Lucid, Mach-E, Hummer EV, Cybertruck, Bolt, Ioniq, and plug-in hybrids are quoted the same way: owner’s manual first, equipment second. Cybertruck jobs are quoted from curb weight and approach angle, not from a published extra. We do not run a high-voltage incident protocol. Ask the assigned operator how they handle a warning light on that car.

What to say so the operator brings a flatbed

Have this ready.

Year, make, model, and whether it is a Tesla, another EV, or a plug-in hybrid.

What failed. 12-volt dead. Traction pack at zero. Crash. Flat. Flood. A flooded underpass is a winch before it is an EV load.

Exact spot. Cross streets, garage name and level, or highway, direction, and closest exit.

Whether Transport Mode is available. If you cannot open the car, say that. A dead 12-volt can lock you out of the menus.

Where it needs to go. A Tesla service center you name, an independent shop, or a charger. “Take it to your lot” is how storage starts. Name the street.

The line is answered around the clock. Calls are recorded after a notice. The operator’s price is quoted before dispatch. We publish no brand figure.

If the keys are inside a locked cabin and the 12-volt is fine, that may still be a lockout. If the 12-volt is the only problem and the manual allows a jump, say jump-start out loud so dispatch does not send a hook with no pack. See jump-start help.

When the car has to move and the menus are dark

A car that will not enter Transport Mode still has to leave a live lane. The operator confirms the method on scene. Dollies, a shallow ramp, or a longer bed belong in the quote. We do not guess that from a ZIP code.

Do not stand in a travel lane on the BQE or the LIE with the charge port open. Call 911 first if you cannot move. Then call us for the recovery once you can name a legal staging street.

This brand does not repair traction packs. Replacement, towing to a service center, and body work after a hit are shop jobs. The operator moves the car. You choose the destination.

If you are comparing truck types for a gas car, stay on the flatbed versus wheel-lift page. This page stays on EVs.

When to call us

An EV that will not roll, will not wake, or sits at zero range on a city curb is a dispatch job once you cannot follow the manual yourself. Call us at (929) 356-7857. The line is answered around the clock, calls are recorded after a notice, and an independent local operator gets the job once the quote is stated.
